COMPETENCY

 Compute higher order derivatives of function.

OBJECTIVE
 The learner will be able to compute higher
order derivatives of functions.
 Higher order derivatives are higher than the
first derivative. The derivative of a given
differentiable functions is called first
derivative. This first derivative of the given
function is also a function.

 The derivative of the first derivative is called

the second derivative. The derivative of the
second derivative is called the third
derivative. The derivative of the third
derivative is called the fourth derivative and
so on.
1. Find the 5th derivatives of
f x  2x 4  9x 3  5x 2  7
Let
f x  2x 4  9x 3  5x 2  7

f ' x   8x3  27 x 2  10 x
f '' x  24x 2  54x 10

f ''' x  48x  54
