TO ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE IN PLANT MAINTENANCE BY
WAY OF ADOPTING PROACTIVE & TOTAL PRODUCTIVE MAINTENANCE APPROACH BASED ON RELIABILITY CENTERED MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT TO MEET CUSTOMER SATISFACTION TO A LEVEL EXCEEDING 99%.
1. MACHINE AVALIABILITY – MIN. AVAILABILITY OF ANY
INDIVIDUAL MACHINE SHOULD BE 95%, FOR OVERALL PLANT 99.7%, FOR NON STANDBY MACHINE PLANT AVAILABILITY MIN 330DAY IN A YEAR REMAINING 35 DAYS FOR TURN AROUND /PLANNED MAINTENANCE.
2. CONDITION OF THE PLANT – QUALITY OF MAINTENANCE/
REPAIRS SHOULD BE SUCH THAT INDIVIDUAL MACHINE SHOULD ALWAYS REMAIN AS EFFICIENT AS WHEN IT WAS NEW.PERFORMANCE OF THE MACHINE AFTER REPAIR SHOULD MATCH BASE PERFORMANCE PARAMETERS . 3. ENERGY EFFICIENCY- PERIODIC ENERGY DATA LOGGING TO MEASURE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF THE MACHINES / MECHANICAL SYSTEMS AND STRIVE FOR CONTINUAL IMPRUVEMENT IN EGERGY CONSUMPUTION OF THE MACHINES LIVERAGING TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS.
4. REPLACEMENT OF MACHINERY – FOR MEETING ABOVE
CRITERIA, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE A MACHINE BY ADVANCE PLANNING.
5.ENVIORNMENT FRIENDLY PRODUCTS – ENVIRONMENT
FRIENDLY PRODUCTS WILL BE USED IN MAINTAINING MACHINES. MAINTENANCE POLICY OF BCPL
6. SPARES AVAILABILITY – MINIMUM CRITICAL SPARES
MUST BE MAINTAINED. OTHER SPARES TO BE MAINTAINED CONSIDERING LEAD DELIVERY AND COST OF SPARES.
7. CANNIBALISATION – NO CANNIBALISING OF ANY
MACHINE IS TO BE CARRIED OUT.
8. SPARE PROCUREMENT –TO ACHIEVE THE
LEVEL OF 3% OF AVERAGE MAINTENANCE EXPENDITURE OF THE EQUIPMENT COST.
9. PROACTIVE /PREDICTIVE & PREVENTIVE MAINENANCE– ALL
RUNNING MACHINES SHALL BE COVERED UNDER THIS PROGRAMME. 10.BREAK DOWN MAINTENANCE- ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS OF ANY EQUIPMENT /MACHINE FAILURE NEED TO BE CARRIED OUT AND CORRECTIVE ACTION BASED ON ANALYSIS ARE TO BE TAKEN TO AVOID SUCH REOCCURANCES. MAINTENANCE POLICY OF BCPL 11. HISTORY/ SAFETY REPORTS – PERFORMANCE AND FAILURE HISTORY CARDS OF ALL MACHINES NEED TO BE SYSTEMATICALLY KEPT AND SHOULD BE CONTINUOUSLY UPDATED.
12. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL/ WORKSHOP – TO
KEEP MINIMUM MANPOWER BY MAINTAINING HIGH PRODUCTIVITY. ROUTINE AND LABOUR INTENSIVE JOBS CAN BE GIVEN ON CONTRACT.
13. MINIMUM AND NECESSARY TESTING AND
WORKSHOP FACILITIES ARE TO BE DEVELOPED. •MAINTENANCE PRACTICES —
•Maintenance practices are to be adopted in line with maintenance policy .Proactive
maint means we have to identify initiation of the defect in the rotating equipment at the earlist .Keeping in mind that no mechanical system fail without warning and our motive has to be to acknowledge the warning and act upon. Earlier we know easy will be the maintenance in minimum time and expenditure. We will follow the approach as below-
• visual inspection of equipments by feel touch , and sound
•Condition monitoring techniques- Vibration monitoring Thermography Lub oil analysis-Wear Debris analysis Corrosion monitoring-corrosion coupons in case of exchangers Thickness measurement-vessels , piping and their bends •Schedule /preventive maintenance PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE
