    •Jose Rizal being our national hero,
    one of the most intriguing issues was
    his alleged retraction which was all
    about his reversion to the Catholic
    faith.
    •Roman Catholic defenders, believe
    that Rizal has retracted into Catholic
    faith because a retraction letter was
    discovered by Father Manuel Garcia
    in 1935.
    •As opposed to the Roman Catholic
    defenders, there were anti-retractionists
    who claim that the retraction document
    forgery.
    •But handwriting experts concluded
    a long time ago that it was genuine.
    •Rizal's retraction was because of his
    marriage with Josephine Bracken
    which he met in 1895.
    •Rizal has no religion but with Father
    Pastell, he shared about his concept of
    God
    (1) God existed
    (2) God was omnipotent/Plus
    Supra(Supreme Being)
    (3) God was the origin of nature and all
    creations.
