 FERTILISATION

The process in which the male

gamete present in the pollen grains
fuses with the female gamete
present in the ovule to form a new
cell called zygote is called
fertilization.
1. Pollen
grains fall on
the stigma of
the pistol.
2. A male
gamete
moves down
the pollen
tube
3. The pollen tube
enters the ovule in the
ovary of a flower.
• 4. In the ovary, the
male gamete of pollen
fuses with the female
gamete form an egg
cell known as a zygote.
5. Zygote develops to
form embryo.

6. Embryo develops into

a new plant.
