COVALENT
BOND JEP/SCIENCE 9/ 2nd QUARTER
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, the students can:
1.0√ explain the formation of ionic and covalent bonds; MLC #1
1.01√ recognize different types of compounds (ionic or
covalent) based on their properties such as melting point,
hardness, polarity, and electrical and thermal conductivity; MLC #2
2.0+ solve correctly exercises determining the charge of
different atom; and
3.0+ gain understanding of various chemicals present on
Earth.
JEP/SCIENCE 9/ 2nd QUARTER
ACTIVITY
THE ELEMENT IS SINKING!
Instruction:
The teacher will ask the students to form
according to the number of proton, electron or
neutron of a certain element.
The students are allowed to use individual
periodic table. NOTE: Sharing is not allowed.
The last two remaining students wins the game.
