INTRODUCTION
In this project planning , analysis and structural design has been done for a shopping mall based
on Indian Standard Codes of practice.
Analysis of the structure was done using
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the project are stated below
• To plan layout of G+8 residential building.
• To analyse the structural elements using IS codes.
• To design the structural elements using IS codes.
NECESSITY
The basic necessities of residential building are:

METHODOLGY
The methodology of the Project is given by the flowchart in Fig 1.1

Literature Review

Preparation of plan with the help of AutoCAD 2017.


Flow Chart

Calculation of loads applied on the structure using STAAD.Pro

Compare the two structures on the basis of cost , construction and sustainability

MAJOR DESIGN EXPERIENCE

This project is a “Structural Design Project”.


Design experience in the following areas has
been gained during the course of the project:
1. Design of beam
2. Design of Column
3. Design of Slab
REALISTIC DESIGN CONSTRAINTS

• The realistic design constraints encountered during the


project were related to safety, social and economic.
• Social constraint:
• Support from localities is needed for the proper
functioning and adequate management of services offered by
shopping centre.
• Economic constraints:
• The methods and materials used shall satisfy the codal
requirements of permissible stresses and design philosophy
to arrive at the cost-effective building.
• Environmental constraints:
• The vegetation cover of the surrounding
area and floor cover area will be changed
to accomodate the floors of building.
