Two kinds of meaning of expressions:
1. Descriptive meaning
Contributes to a bare presentation of facts
as in the claim. It can be determined by its
truth conditions.
2. Evaluative meaning
Functions in a differnet way by offering an
assessment. It also varies woth the reactions
of those using the expression.
Evaluative meaning

1. The beliefs, opinions, knowledge and information held by a person .

AFFECTIVE
2. The emotional or feeling, segment of an attitude

BEHAVIORAL
3. An intention to behave in a certain way toward someone or
something
