Born John Ewing Richter in New Jersey. April 27th 1911.

As a teenager Cole joined the dance company of


Ruth St. Denis & Ted Shawn’s Denishawm dance
company.

en joining too study at the troupe of Doris Humphrey & Charles Weidman.
