LEADERSHIP

AND

MANAGEMENT
The Resonant Leader

Resonant leaders use emotional and social

intelligence skills…

 to renew themselves,
 create positive relationships,
 foster a healthy, vibrant environment to engage others
toward a common goal.

They do this through

Vigilance, Hope and Compassion
–Vigilance - The awareness of what is really
happening within your body, mind, heart and spirit,
while paying attention to what is going on around you.

–Hope - Charting a course of action on clearly

articulated goals, believing the goals can be met and
eventually reaching them with a sense of well-being.

–Compassion - Compassion is empathy in action -

not just caring, but helping others to discover their
dreams and helping to achieve them.
Reflection:

The litmus test of being an efficient and

effective leader/manager:
When employees leave your company,
do they feel inspired, lifted, excited?
“When dealing with people, let us
remember we are not dealing with
creatures of logic.
We are dealing with creatures of
emotion, creatures bustling with
prejudices and motivated by pride
and vanity.”

Dale Carnegie
Reflection:

– How did your leaders/managers

who brought out the best in you
make you feel about…
 What you were doing?

 Why you were doing it?

MANAGERS LIVE A PURPOSE
DRIVEN LIFE

There are Two Greatest moments that can

happen in life...
The time when we were born
The time that we realized our purpose

Mark Twain
What is your purpose of
coming to FURUKAWA?

This training will have no meaning if you will

never realize that the greatest asset of this
company is YOU... Not your skills, not your
talents and intelligence, they are only
accidents... but the BEAUTY and the
GOODNESS of who you are.
Reflections:

To the Egyptians they always ask these 2

inspiring questions...
Have you found your Joy?
Have you brought Joy to others?
Work is finding JOY... Because you want to
LOVE your family.
Transformational Leaders Are
Agents of CHANGE

TRUST COMMITMENT LOVE

We were born with a silver spoon in our

Mouth... because we were taught to be
responsible of the choices we make.
FOUR THINGS
TO GUIDE US IN LIFE
– Everybody needs something to do
– Everybody needs someone to love
– Everybody needs someone to believe in
– Everybody needs something to hope for

Just have fun, because if you have fun being here...

people will have fun being around...
Do things to the best of your ability.
SHOW PEOPLE YOU CARE
Reflections:
– When can you tell if an employee is very
smart, but they will fail later in life?

– As a manager, did you ever halt the day’s

work in order to address the immediate
needs of the employees?

Would you choose a career to work in an

organization where you are to gamble your
future?... or Would you choose a career to work
where you can be confident and stable?
