DOUBT| unbelief

“ Lord I Believe.. Help my Unbelief” – Mark 9:24b

Prepared and Presented by: Neco Ompoc

WHAT IS DOUBT?
“If we take their advice, we would
have to doubt what they said”

Instead of taking the advice of skeptics and

false teachers, we will see what the Bible has
to say.
The very first expression of
doubt in the Bible is in Genesis 3,
when Satan tempted Eve.

“Did God actually say,

‘You shall not eat of any
tree in the garden’?”
The very first expression of
doubt in the Bible is in Genesis 3,
when Satan tempted Eve.

“You will not surely die.”

When Zechariah was visited
by the angel of the Lord
and told that he would
have a son (Luke 1:11-17)
he doubted the word given
to him.
Where is the wise? where is
the scribe? where is the
disputer of this world? hath
not God made foolish the
wisdom of this world?
(1Co 1:20 KJV)

Faith is trusting God even

when His plan goes against
human reason or experience.
The most famous doubter in
the Bible was Thomas.
“Have you believed because you have seen
me? Blessed are those who have not seen and
yet have believed.” “Faith is the assurance of
things hoped for, the
conviction of things not
seen.”
Hebrews 11:1
Contrary to the
humanistic view that
doubt is essential to
life, the Bible says
that doubt is a
destroyer of life.
The remedy for doubt is
faith.
So then faith cometh by
hearing, and hearing by
the word of God.
(Rom 10:17 KJV)
God gave us the Bible as
a testimony of His
works in the past, so we
will have a reason to
trust Him in the
present.

 “I will remember the deeds of the LORD;

yes, I will remember your miracles of
long ago” (Psalm 77:11).
CONCLUSION
• As Christians We can expect to be tempted to doubt God
everyday.
• We can expect also, that God will always provide a way out.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is

common to man: but God is faithful, who will not
suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;
but will with the temptation also make a way to
escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
(1Co 10:13 KJV)
CONCLUSION
• We can choose to trust God and ask Him to sustain us in
our trust in Him. Our job is to choose Him and His job is to
keep and sustain us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor
things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor
depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to
separate us from the love of God, which is in
Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Rom 8:38-39 KJV)
CONCLUSION
• We doubt because we do not understand…We do not
understand because we have not asked God for wisdom to
understand… so when in doubt ask God for wisdom to
understand.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that
giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;
and it shall be given him.
(Jas 1:5 KJV)
CONCLUSION
• When Satan overwhelms you with how big your problems are
and how big will the consequences of your mistake is going to
be, or how big is this mountain of difficulty you are facing…
Remember FAITH can move mountains.
“FAITH has shut the lions mouth, it has made people walk
through fire, oceans and rivers. Faith has drawn water
from a rock on dry dessert place, faith has returned
everything taken, it has right everything that was wronged
in the life of job, faith has made a boy into king and a king
into an oxen. It has turned water into wine, bread and fish
turned to nourished thousands. Faith has brought a man
walking out of his tomb, There nothing impossible with
God. The very same God that has chosen to die on the
cross for you and me.”
