Etiology

 The penetration of the reticulum by


metallic
foreign objects that have been ingested.

 59% by pieces of wire,


 36% by nails,
 6% by miscellaneous objects.
Clinical findings
 High temprature
 Anorexia
 Abdominal pain
 Arching of back
 Pain on movement
Diagnosis
 Use of metal detector (Magnet)
 Ultrasonography of reticulum
Treatment
 Frontfeet elevation
 Reduction of roughages feed
 NSAID:
 Fluxine
meglumine,
meloxicam,Vetafenic+
 Antibiotics:
Ciprofloxicin,Enrofloxacine,Chloramfeni
col

 Gastrotomy:If not treated with


medicine
