Flute :
An arch with the proper curve is the strongest way to span a given space.
These arches are known as flutes and when anchored to the linerboard with a starch-based adhesive, they
resist bending and pressure from all directions.

Information from SCG
Advantage :
• When a piece of combined board is placed on its end, the
arches form rigid columns, capable of supporting a great
deal of weight.
• When pressure is applied to the side of the board, the space
in between the flutes acts as a cushion to protect the
container's contents.
• The flutes also serve as an insulator, providing some product
protection from sudden temperature changes.
• At the same time, the vertical linerboard provides more
strength and protects the flutes from damage.

Box Dimensions
Dimensions for corrugated boxes are always stated in the sequence of Length (L) x Width (W) x Depth or
Height (H).
Dimensions can be specified for the Inside or Outside or Scoreline of the box.
The dimensions of a box are described based on the opening of an assembled box, which can be located on
the top or the side, depending on how it is to be filled.
The opening of a box is a rectangle; that is, it has two sets of parallel sides.
The longer of the two sides is considered its “Length”.
The shorter of the two sides is considered its “Width”.
The side perpendicular to length and width is considered the ”Depth"
of the box.

Box Dimensions
Dimensions can be specified for either the Inside , Outside and Scoreline dimension.
1. Inside Dimension :
• Measuring Length, Width and Depth from the internal dimension.
• Must be determined to ensure the proper fit for the product being shipped or stored
Length
Width
Depth
2. Outside Dimension :
Length (ยาว)
• Measuring Length, Width and Depth from the
outside dimensions Width (กว้าง)
• To calculate the pallet size and distribute the boxes
depends on the outside dimensions.
Depth (สูง)

3. Scoreline Dimension :
• Measuring Length, Width and Depth on the position of creasing line.
• For setting the machine, such as setting creasing knife, perforating knife.

How to convert the Dimensions ?
1. Converting Inside to be Outside dimension. (I.D. O.D.) :
Outside Dimension
Flute Length Width Depth
(mm.) (mm.) (mm.)
A L + 10 W + 10 D + 20
B L+6 W+6 D + 12
C L+8 W+8 D + 16

How to convert the Dimensions ?
2. Converting Inside to be Scoreline dimension. (I.D. S.D.) :
W/2 + c
D+d
L+a W+a L+a W+a
Note :
L = Length of ID
W = Width of ID
W/2 + c D = Depth of ID
