Abstract
• In the first instance, the relevance of this project
is based on the need to develop improvements in
the skills and reading comprehension of
Dominican students incorporating strategies and
technological resources specifically using virtual
teaching classrooms that facilitate and motivate
their willingness to increase reading and
understanding.
Project Objectives
General
• Encourage sixth grade elementary students in
Saint Lawrence School in the Implementation of
virtual educational platforms (Google classroom)
to improve reading comprehension skills.

Specifics
• Promote Google classroom as an innovative learning tool
to improve reading comprehension skills in 6th
elementary grade students Saint Lawrence School.

• Stimulate in class the use of technological learning


strategies to increase reading comprehension skills.

• Motivate teachers community in different study areas


(Literature, social studies, Language arts) to implement
the use of Google Classroom in their lesson planning
activities focus on reading comprehension materials.

Methodology
• This project has been designed to apply the Blended
learning methodology to improve reading
comprehension skills based on the following strategies:

• -Activities develop in the classroom.

• - Synchronize and guide activities online that the


student can perform in an autonomy and independent
way of space and time. In our case, these are offered
through the virtual classroom Google classroom.
Execution
• To development this educational project was
necessary organize the execution in three
phases:

• Phase 1: School authorities and parents


communication
• Phase 2: Teachers training
• Phase 3: Students training
Advantages
• Among the advantages we can experience using Google classroom are:
 
• Make teaching more interactive, collaborative, and meaningful,
teachers can create whatever classes.
 
• Apply assignments, send grade and reports (corrections), and see
everything in one place.
 
• With Google classroom teachers and students can work anywhere,
anytime, and on any device also can sign in from any computer or
mobile device to access class assignments, course materials, and
feedback.
 
Advantages
• Educators can track student progress to know how,
where and when to give additional feedback. Due to the
simplicity in the management of assignments, more
energy can be concentrated in giving students
constructive and personalized recommendations.

• Teachers to help organize day-to-day tasks,


communication, and foster greater collaboration and
also educator use approved apps integrate with Google
Classroom like Quizizz, Classcraft, Pear deck,
Bookwidgets, etc.
Recommendations
In the application and development of our virtual classroom
we had certain challenges that could affect the proper
functioning of the course, for this reason, we take into
account the following guidelines to achieve a successful class:
 
1. Organize the classes
2. Prepare a study program
3. Develop works for projects
4. Potentialize classes with additional resources
5. Create complementary activities
