Summary

• Similar spiking seen in four networks that has been monitored

(SFR, TMO US, Optus, O2 UK)

• Spiking both in high load and low load conditions

– High base UL load seen only in O2

• Typical spike has 5-6 sec duration and 5 - 40 dB power

increase
– Also short 1-2 sec spikes seen in O2 and TMO US

SFR spikes
25 – 30 dB spike
• Low/medium load conditions
– 1-2 base load NR 1-2 dB base load
– 5-15 users
• 25-30 dB spike
• 4-6 sec spike duration
• Base load increased after spike 4-6 sec
– SIR targets increased?

• Effect on KPIs
– UL accessibility decreased
– UL SIR initiated SCC and switch to
DCH
