What is Programmable Automation

Controller (PAC)?
• A PLC style device which is easy to configure is nothing but
Programmable
• Automation Controller or PAC. There are lots of advanced
capabilities in it and they are default present in the design.
Complex functions can be performed in it
• like latching, loop control and delivery and data acquisition. As
open architectures, there are other advantages that are used
in producing and they can link to almost any business system
or device present today
Features of a PAC
• 1) For defining the applications the user
requires and to assist the users in defining
automated hardware.
• 2) For communicating effectively, vendors are
given a term for expressing the characteristics
and abilities of a product. A few rules or
guidelines are made and explained by ARC for
considering the device as an automation
controller which is programmable.
• 3) A single platform is used for operation: It is very
much true for single or multiple domains and in
motions, drives which have process controls.
• 4) A single or multiple domains are used for
motions, drives and process controls for operating
using a single platform.
• 5) For various tasks single database is used in all
the disciples and it employs a single development
platform.
Functional Benefits

• For defining a PAC, there are some characteristics

used for explaining the benefits for explaining the
industrial application and installation. Complex
requirements can be met by PAC and there is no
need for additional components like PLC. There is a
high integration for software and hardware for
improving control system performance. For
producing a PAC an Integrated
• Development Environment or IDE uses a tag name
that is used and shared by various development
tools.
