1.) Tannhauser’s Method
(Height in cm – 100) – 10% x(Height in cm – 100) • 1kg= 2.2 pounds
Example 1: 5’ 5” • 1m= 100cm
= (165 – 100 ) - .1 (165 – 100) • 1in= 2.54 cm
= 65 – 6.5
= 58.5 = 59kg
HAMWI METHOD

• WOMEN
• 100 pounds for the first 5 feet
• Plus 5 pounds for every inch thereafter
• Subtract 2 pounds for every inch below 5ft
• MEN
• 106 pounds for the first 5 feet
• Plus 6 pounds for every inch thereafter
• Subtract 2 pounds for every inch below 5ft
Example for HAMWI COMPUTATION
• MALE; 5” 10 • FEMALE; 4” 11

= 106 + ( 10 x 6) = 100 - ( 1 x 2)
= 106 + 60 = 100 - 2
= 166lb = 75kg = 98lb = 45kg
