• The Ponseti Method is used to treat congenital talipes equinovarus
AKA clubfoot

Which is :
 Rotatory subluxation of the talocalneonavicular joint (subtalar
complex) with talus in plantar flexion and subtalar complex in medial
rotation and inversion
• The Ponseti Method is a conservative and manipulative method that
is utilised worldwide to correct clubfoot

• developed by Dr. Ignacio.V.Ponseti (1914-2009) of the University of


Iowa hospital and clinics
GOALS
• The goal is to reduce if not eliminate all elements of the clubfoot
deformity, hence leaving a functional / pain- free, normal-looking,
plantigrade, mobile foot by to rotating The foot laterally around a
fixed talus

• Functional, Pain-free Feet


• Wear Normal Shoes
• Avoid Permanent Disability
