What is WiFi
Wi-Fi stands for “wireless fidelity”.It is the name of a popular wireless
networking technology that uses radio waves to provide wireless high-speed
Internet and network connections operated in 2.4/5 Ghz as per as IEEE 802.11x
networking standards.
802.11a will transmit data at a frequency level of 5GHz. You can transmit a maximum of 54
megabits of data per second.

The 802.11b will transmit data at a frequency level of 2.4GHz, which is a relatively slow speed.
You can transmit a maximum of 11 megabits of data per second.

The 802.11g will transmit data at 2.4GHz but can transmit a maximum of 54 megabits of data
per second as it also uses an OFDM coding.

The more advanced 802.11n can transmit a maximum of 140 megabits of data per second and
uses a frequency level of 5GHz.

7
Goal of The Project
This project was to create a system to wirelessly broadcast
an audio signal from a computer to a set of speakers using
Wi‐Fi. This allows one to play music files from a computer
and have the sound come out of any speakers that are in
range of the wireless network. The ideal use case for this
product would involve the ability to have a computer in
one room processing music files while multiple speakers
throughout the house are actually playing the music.

Block Diagram

The pc with wireless LAN is used to transmit the audio over 802.11 protocols. The
wireless LAN module receives the data being transmitted. The received data is passed
to the arduino controller. The arduino controller passes the data to the speaker
through the audio codec present in the speaker, used to get a specified audio format.

9
The Transmitter Module
The Wi-fly GSX module is a embedded wireless 802.11
module used as transreceiver.
 Fast
 Low form factor
 Good power efficiency
 Runs directly from batteries (onboard battery boost
circuit) or regulated power supply
 So,RN-131G is perfect for wireless applications.

Arduino Microcontroller
The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the
ATmega328. It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6
can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz
crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP
header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed
to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a
computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC
adapter or battery to get started.

ATmega328
Features
 8K bytes of In-System Programmable Flash with Read-While-Write capabilities
 512 bytes of EEPROM
 1K byte of SRAM
 23 general purpose I/O lines
 32 general purpose working registers
 Three flexible Timer/Counters with compare modes
 Internal and external interrupts
 A serial programmable USART
 Byte oriented Two-wire Serial Interface
 A 6-channel ADC (eight channels in TQFP and QFN/MLF packages) with 10-bit accuracy
 A programmable Watchdog Timer with Internal Oscillator
 An SPI serial port
 Five software selectable power saving modes

14
Audio Decoder
An audio codec is a codec (a device or computer
program capable of coding or decoding a digital data
stream) that encodes or decodes audio. It contains both an
analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and digital-to-analog
converter (DAC) running off the same clock signal.

Our Progress
Regulated voltage supply
So far we have made a circuit on breadboard that convert AC to DC
and gives a constant voltage supply at output.

Future Scope
No doubt wifi network is an amazing wireless technology. Now a wifi
network has become the significant option of anyone because of its
salient features like speed, security, mobility .So wireless speaker is
supposed to replace the tradition of older wired counterparts and its
demand will be increasing day by day .

18
Conclusion
So far we have been able to create the bridge rectifier
circuit using a step down transformer. I n future we
wish to generate the results that we are hopeful about
with the help of our very own working model .

We are very thankful to Sanjib Nandi Sir for his

big contribution and guidance regarding the project.
