Introduction

The aim of this presentation


is to assess the level in
gender inequality in Mexico
especially in the labor force.
Gender inequality
People are treated differently under
similar circumstances, for example,
economics, politics, and education on
the basis of gender.
The origins of gender inequality are traced to social
structures that perpetuate men’s domination of
women in all areas of private and public life. This
structural system of domination has existed
throughout history and has been labeled as
patriarchy.

Background But there are currently many public policies aimed


at empowering women. Over the past two decades,
Mexico has increased investments in girls'
education, expanded childcare, improved gender
mainstreaming in government. Despite these
efforts, many Mexican women still do not feel the
effects of these policies at home, at work, or in
public spaces.

Causes

Some of the causes of Mexico’s low female


participation rate in the workforce are
motherhood, household duties and the country’s
high rates of gender violence.
Conclusion
Despite of Mexico government is trying to eradicate gender inequality it is still not
sufficient to make a difference.
