TRICHOMES

• All unicellular and multicellular appendages of

epidermis are designated by term trichoma
• Trichomes have many functions. They help to increase
the rate of water absorption and reduce they rate of
water loss due to evaporation in order to keep the leaf
surface fill
• Form and distribution of trichomes differ amon plant
species or genera.
