concerning me.

they might understand the scriptures,

the glory that should follow.
Men of God

not in old time by the will of
man: but holy men of God
spake as they were moved by
the Holy Ghost.
Angels

the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the
vision at the beginning, being caused to fly

which God gave unto him, to shew

Man must study
under divine
inspiration
• The Holy Spirit must teach us.
• 1 Corinthians 2:11-14.
• 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which
is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
• 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is
of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
• 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom
teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with
spiritual.
• 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they
are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are
spiritually discerned.
Need the unction and
anointing of the Holy Spirit.
• 1 John 2:20, 27.
• 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy
One, and ye know all things.
• 27 But the anointing which ye have received
of him abideth in you, and ye need not that
any man teach you: but as the same
anointing teacheth you of all things, and is
truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught
you, ye shall abide in him.
Ask, seek, knock, and
receive the Holy Spirit
• (Matthew 7:7, 8). Luke 11:9-13.
• 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek,
and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you:
• 8 For every one that asketh receiveth;
and he that seeketh findeth; and to him
that knocketh it shall be opened.
LUKE 9:9-13
• 9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
• 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
• 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he
give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a
serpent?
• 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
• 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the
Holy Spirit to them that ask him
All can understand,
even children.

hast known the holy scriptures,
which are able to make thee wise
unto salvation through faith which

a way, and it shall be called The way

err therein.

the simple
• (Psalm 119:99). Psalm 19:7.
• 99 I have more understanding than all my
teachers: for thy testimonies are my

making wise the simple.
It gives understanding.

• 130 The entrance of thy
words giveth light; it giveth
understanding unto the
simple.
Those who are willing to follow the word
will understand the word.
•John 7:17.
•17 If any man will do his will,
he shall know of the doctrine,
whether it be of God, or
whether I speak of myself.
God commands men to teach His
word.
• Matthew 28:19, 20.
• 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
• 20 Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I
am with you always, even unto the end of the
world. Amen.
Man’s teachings must agree
with the Scriptures. (A serious
responsibility,
•Isaiah 8:20.
•20 To the law and to the
testimony: if they speak not
according to this word, it is
because there is no light in them.
Changing God’s word is equal
to witchcraft.
• 1 Samuel 15:22, 23.
• 22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great
delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in
obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is
better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat
of rams.
• 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and
stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because
thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath
also rejected thee from being king.
Adding or taking away brings the curse of
plagues and loss of eternal life.
• Revelation 22:18, 19
• 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the
words of the prophecy of this book, If any man
shall add unto these things, God shall add unto
him the plagues that are written in this book:
• 19 And if any man shall take away from the words
of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away
his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy
city, and from the things which are written in this
book.
How to study the Scriptures
• Before opening the Bible, pray.
• Daniel 9:21, 22.

man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the
beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me

said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee
skill and understanding.

the Scriptures.

and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither
went into the synagogue of the Jews.
• 11 These were more noble than those in
Thessalonica, in that they received the word with
all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures
daily, whether those things were so.
We must carefully compare the Scriptures,
line upon line, and precept upon precept.
•Isaiah 28:10
• 10 For precept must be upon
precept, precept upon
precept; line upon line, line
upon line; here a little, and
there a little:

learning,

comfort, and hope

• 4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime
were written for our learning, that we through
patience and comfort of the scriptures might have
hope.
• (1 Corinthians 10:11).

ensamples: and they are written for our
admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are
come

contained.
