Design Program
• Clients

• The clients for this project are family members. They’re family visits often so they wish there is a recliner seat for their grandma to enjoy. They have a medium sized dog that always loves to be around them. They would like to have family and friends
visit more often and when they do there needs to be plenty of seating available.

• Design Concept

• The clients wish the design concept would be simple but modern. They wish things are kept simple to have a clean finish. They have similar colors being navy, white and grey tones. They want this area to be inviting but look large and comfortable.

• Colors and Materials

• The couch may need to have heavy texture or maybe leather to avoid dog hair being present. The color of flooring they requested be a grey-white tone of wood. The walls will be white to reflect the large living room. The flooring must be durable in
order to clean up any mishaps or dog accidents.

• Space Requirements

• Client would like this area to be an entertaining area. Right now, they dog have their gaming/entertainment system set up neatly and accordingly. In order to correct this, a new tv stand will need to purchase in order to make it neat.

• Functional Analysis

• This space has comfortable seating for 6.

• The area can fit a few ottomans around the room, against the wall if needed.

• Large coffee table.

• The TV is 80”.

• The viewing distance is roughly 8ft.

Reflection

• How does this assignment reflect the progression or growth of your

learning in this course? What new information did you learn
through-out the semester that is reflected in this assignment? Can
you use this new information in other areas of your life?

• This course has been unbelievable. It has taught me so much more

to interior designing that I have ever thought about. Watching tv
shows like “Flip or Flop” look so seamlessly easy. Learning about the
different materials, colors, and ambiance of a room really does
make a difference. I can use the materials I’ve learned in this course
to help my family members design their homes or even my own! It’s
interesting to drive pass a house that is being built and
acknowledge the material I’ve learned in class about the building.
