My Observations

● 4 hours at Griffis Elementary in Mrs. Jacobs 2nd grade class

● 12 hours using observation videos
What I learned

● It is important to have students write about something meaningful to

their lives in their writing journals
● It is important to incorporate my students’ cultures and families into my
classroom
● It is important to listen to my students and give them an opportunity to
share their opinions to me and the rest of the class
What else I learned

● To connect lessons to real world experiences and my students’ lives

● A combination of whole class, group, and independent assignments is
important
● Some topics and lessons might be better understood by some students
from their peers
