Medical Benefit-Section 56.

• Every insurable employee under the Act gets medical benefits the day he becomes an employee.
• This benefit extends to his family members as well.
• This medical benefit has no ceiling in terms of expenditure on healthcare.
• Hence, the ESI Corporation takes care of all treatment expenses as per its rules.
• Apart from general healthcare benefits, retired and permanently disabled workers also get an
annual premium of Rs. 120. This benefit extends to the spouses of the workers as well.
Section-57 SCALE OF MEDICAL BENEFITS

•To Insured Persons:- They are entitled to avail treatment in ESI Dispensary/Hospital/Diagnostic Centre
and recognized institutions, to which he is attached such as:-
•Outpatient treatment
•Domiciliary treatment by visits at their residences.
•Specialists Consultation.
•In-patient treatment(Hospitalization)
•Free supply of drugs dressings and artificial limbs, aids and appliances.
•imaging and laboratory services.
•Integrated family welfare, immunization and MCH Programmed and other national health program
etc.
•Ambulance service or re-imbursement of conveyance charges for going to hospitals, diagnostic centers
etc.
•Medical Certification and
•Special provisions.
•To Family Members of Insured Persons-"FULL" Medical Care i.e., all facilities as for
IPs including hospitalization.
Section-58 PROVISION OF MEDICAL TREATMENT BY STATE
GOVERNMENT.

The main objective of the scheme is to provide health care facilities to the
employees of various industrial, commercial organization, which employ 10
or more employees and whose salary is Rs. 21000/- per month or less.

Section-59 ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF HOSPITALS BY

CORPORATION

• Take approvals of the state government and establish and maintain

hospitals.

• Corporation may enter into agreement with any local authority , private
body in regard to the provision of medical treat.
(Yashoda Hospital , Lotus childrens Hospital , Remedy Hospital , Image
Hospital , Mediciti Hospital , Care Hospital)
Section-60 BENEFIT NOT ASSIGNABLE OR ATTACHABLE

The right to receive any payment of any benefit under this Act shall
not be transferable or assignable.
