The involvement of the GOMBURZA

• Two Spanish accounts proved that the
GOMBURZA was involved in the
premeditated mutiny.
• It turned out that the Filipinos (mutineers)
planned to place the priests as the head of
the government. The head selected would
be D. Jose Burgos or D. Jacinto Zamora.
• There were mutineers who acted as
witnesses and stated that D. Jose Burgos
asked help from the US for the rebellion.
• The Spanish received an information that a
great uprising against the Spanish
government would break out and that the
conspiracy had been going on since the days
of La Torre with utmost secrecy.
