• Philosophical concept which centered on the
ren
• Ren can be undestood as human goodness
• Can be manifested through the li (propriety),
xiao (filiality), and yi (righteousness)
Ren can only be realized through:
• Li (propriety)
-the underlying reason and order of nature as
reflected in its organic forms. It may be
translated as "rational principle" or "law."
-refers to the norms of society
• Xiao (filiality)
- It is the virtue of reverence and respect for
family.
• Yi (rightness)

-It is the right way of behaving


-right is right and what is not is wrong
- “Do not do to others what you do not want
them to do to you”
