CHAPTER 2: OF THE CARTOGRAPHIC AND
GEOGRAPHIC PUBLICATIONS OF THE
NATIONAL TERRITORY
Requirements for:
 Publications that refer to the national territory
(Military Geographical Institute )
 If international limits are involved, there must
also be an approval (Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
 The publication must contain the respective
authorization note and the distributors must also
ensure its existence.
CHAPTER 3: FROM THE COUNTRY'S
GEOGRAPHIC AND CARTOGRAPHIC DATA FILE
Specifies:
 Responsible for the country's geographic and
cartographic data archive (Military
Geographical Institute )
 Constitution
 Technical-scientific purposes and needs of the
country.
Surveys carried out by individuals
Art 42: National or foreign natural or legal persons, who require the authorization of the Military
Geographical Institute to carry out aerial photography, Aero photogrammetric surveys, photogrammetric
surveys, image taking and records of the national territory, satellite positioning and others related to
cartography, they will present:
 Title of Geographical Engineer duly legalized
 Certificates proving the legal existence and appointment of the representative or attorney
 Bank references that demonstrate the economic solvency of the applicant
 Payroll of technical staff with their respective CVs
 List of equipment available to the applicant
 Certification that certifies compliance with the obligations of the professional practice of
Engineering
Art. 43: Authorization to enter the country of instruments and technical equipment.- For the purposes provided for
in Article 20 of the National Cartography Law, natural or legal persons, national or foreign, interested in the
petition that will be addressed to the Minister of National Defense, they will add the following documents:
 Certificates proving the legal existence and appointmente of the representative or attorneyin the case of legal
persons
 Description of the activities carried out by the applicant
 List of aircraft,instruments and equipment in general to be introduces into the country, with determination of
technical specifications and origin
 Commitment to submit to inspections by the Ministry of national defense once that the team has entered the
country
 Commitment to present to the Ministry of National Defense the documents that prove the legal entry of
authorized team
Art. 45: Delivery of documents.- The natural or legal persons authorized to execute the works specified in
Article 42 of these Regulations, at the conclusion of the same they will deliver to the Military Geographic
Institute, the negatives of the films, copies of the corresponding aerial photography on paper or magnetic
support, the data technicians who served for its execution, the information obtained and the final results.
