the Cross
Being Birth into the Revelation of the Cross

resurrection. “

JESUS TOOK THE CURSE FOR US

Isaiah 1:2-5
“Hear, O heavens! Listen, O earth! For the LORD has spoken: "I reared
children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me. The ox
knows his master, the donkey his owner's manger, but Israel does not
know, my people do not understand." Ah, sinful nation, a people loaded
with guilt, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have
forsaken the LORD; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned
their backs on him. Why should you be beaten anymore? Why do you
persist in rebellion? Your whole head is injured, your whole heart
afflicted. “

in Him.

that in him we might become the righteousness of
God.”

AND OPPRESION

from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of
it,' "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you
will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and
thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.

THE WHIPS ON HIS BACK: OUR HEALING

“ He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and
familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he
was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our
infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by
God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our
transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that
brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. “

 All disease, all pain-no matter what how great or how serious it may
be- was canceled upon the back of Jesus when He was whipped and
scourged.

took the curse of guilt with the first nail.
 Nail #2: cancelled accusations and arguments.
Colossians 2:13-14

your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all
our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that
was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing
it to the cross.

 Nail #3: victory over oppression

THE SPEAR: INNER HEALING

John 19:34
Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear,
bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.

“ For the message of the cross is foolishness to
those who are perishing, but to us who are being
saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will
destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of
the intelligent I will frustrate." Where is the wise
man? Where is the scholar? Where is the
philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish
the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom
of God the world through its wisdom did not know
him, God was pleased through the foolishness of
what was preached to save those who believe. “
