CONTRACT TYPES IN COLOMBIA

• fixed term
• Indefinite term

WORKDAY
• 48 hour a week, 8 hours a day
• According to the law 1846 of 2017 the day can be day (from
6:00 a.m. to 8:59 p.m.) or night ( from 9:00 p.m. To 5:59
a.m.).
• Sunday work and holidays are remunerated with 75% on the
ordinary salary according to the hours worked.
•  Vacations in Colombia are in 15 business days.
SALARY IN COLOMBIA

• The Legal Minimum Wage Effective (LMWE), is 828.116 COP.


• • Ordinary salary: it is the one that remunerates the daily work; it does not include social
benefits or remuneration.
• • Integral salary: is the payment granted to employees who perform ordinary and
extraordinary work, social benefits and more work credits that do not include vacations.
• • Non-wage payments: it is an agreement between the employee and the employer; does
not include constitutive salary payments. It is not taken into account for the settlement.
Nor do they make a basis for the payment of parafiscal contributions.
OTHER BENEFITS:

• Social benefits such as unemployment benefits, interest on severance payments, service premium or
transportation assistance, endowment.
• Parafiscal contributions to the Colombian Family Welfare Institute, the National Learning Service and the
Family Compensation Fund. If the worker earns less than ten legal minimum wages in force, there is an
exoneration of these payments and social security in health.
