Coupling Capacitors

Introduction
 Coupling capacitors are used as a part of PLCC
systems

 They act as high pass filters

 Used for coupling high frequency communication

signals.

Insulation Resistance (IR) Test

Procedure
1) Connect High Voltage Insulation
Tester as given in figure.
2) Remove the connected earthing to
system.
3) 5kV Voltage should be injected
usually for 1 min, or till the
measurement become steady
whichever is earlier.
Capacitance Measurement Test

Objective: To measure
Capacitance value as per name
plate

 Tan delta value should be below

than 0.7%

 Capacitance value should be

6600pF (±2%)
