• The theme in a story is its underlying message, or 'big idea. 'In other
words, what critical belief about life is the author trying to convey in
the writing of a novel, play, short story or poem? This belief, or idea,
transcends cultural barriers. It is usually universal in nature. The story
speaks about a girl who tells her story after many years in which she
returns to the age of seventeen when she got married to the French
Marquis, she was drawn to Marquis because of his great wealth and
because she was a poor pianist. Marquise had already married 3
times, but his last wife disappeared under mysterious circumstances,
which made the heroine even more excited about moving to his
castle overlooking the sea. On the day after marriage, Marquis goes
to an urgent job he must attend in New York and leaves her alone in
the castle with a few maids and a series of keys. Tell her that she can
use any key .But he prevented her from entering one room While
exploring the castle, the heroine accidentally drops all the keys on
the ground, and the first thing she grabs is the restricted room key.
The heroine is overwhelmed with curiosity and goes to the far corner of
the castle, where she lies in the dark room and finds the bodies of the
three previous Marquise wives who killed him, where his last wife is still
bleeding on the floor, so the heroine was shocked as the keys were
dropped on the blood, hid all evidence of their presence in the room and
closed The Door. I discovered that the blood stains on the key had
turned into a red heart, .and it would not disappear no matter how
rubbed it
