INTRODUCTION
• Flash cards are a set of pictures
with suitable captions, or
prepared on any theme. Each
one will represent a particular
sequence so as to send out the
message to the audience.
DEFINITION-:

• ‘Flash card are a set of pictured paper cards


of varying sizes that are flashed one by one
in a logical sequence . Flash cards can be
self made or commercially prepared and
are made up of chart or drawing paper ,
plane paper using colors or ink on them for
drawings.
 
PURPOSES
• Attract a group’s attention.
• Convey an idea.
• Teach basic concepts.
• Start discussion
• Supplementary aid in education.
• Playing educational games.
PRINCIPLES
• For effective use , the group size can
range from 5-15.
.
• A brief introduction has to be given.

• Flash cards should be holding at


chest level
• Flash cards are numbered and arranged.

• Bold lettering and illustration should be done.

• Size of the card depends upon group.

• The number of cards should not be normally


more than 15 to 20.
PREPARATION OF FLASH CARD-:

• Select a theme and prepare the message.

• Collect the article needed.

• Use cards 12cm ×17cm for small group and


37cm×50cm for larger group.

• Make drawings or use cutout pictures for each card.


• Number the card.

• Height of the writing on the flash card should be


5cm approximately for easy visualization.

• The first card should indicate the topic

• Second card should indicate content in a sequence.


ADVANTAGES
• Inexpensive and easily made

• Can be handmade with local material.

• It hold attention of the audience.

• Overcomes language barrier.

• Flexible to meet the requirement of the speaker.


• Effective way to present an important message .

• Flash card can be used to introduce the topic .

• Flash card can be used to review the topic.

• It can be used to develop the cognitive abilities.


DISADVANTAGES
• Effectiveness is influenced by way of presentation.

• It may get spoil as it is made of paper.

• It can not be used for a big audience.

• Audience may lose attention if too many cards are


used.
BULLETIN BOARD
• A bulletin board is a soft board,
which will hold pins or tags almost
suitable. Simple device placed either
indoor or outdoor. Items generally
displayed are photographs,
publication, posters, newspaper cut
outs.
DEFINITION
• A bulletin board is a place where
people can leave public message,
e.g.-to advertise things to buy or sell,
announce events or provide
information.

PRINCIPLES
• A board should be kept separately.
• Neat ,clear and orderly manner
• Attractive
• Well labeled.
• Students contribution
• Avoid crowding.
CHARATERISTICS

• Should be with finished edge.


• Must be fixed on wall
• Must be colorful and attractive
• Have at least a unified theme for clarity.
• Avoid overcrowded display.
ADVANTAGES
• Build interest.
• Motivating.
• Interactive
• Report the special activities
• Explains important event
DISADVANTAGES
• Not effective for illiterate group.
• Takes lots of preplanning and preparation
• Distracting
• Students fairness.
• Confusion
