A truck loaded with a Rig generator took an unapproved
route to a rig camp. The driver failed to consider the hazards
and struck an overhead line. The overhead line was hooked
on the generator exhaust the line’s and dragged forward
under tension causing the 2 supporting wooden poles to
snap and fall to the ground. Luckily there was no injuries
sustained however the there was a loss of power which
resulted in a loss on oil production subsequently leading to a
substantial oil deferment.

This resulted in an electrical arc between the centre line

Ensure NO deviations from the surveyed route
Do not Drive High Vehicles and Rig Loads under OHL
Crossings without Goal Posts
Maintain the below clearance from the OHL as per SP-
1242:
For high voltage lines keep minimum of 3 m
clearance
