The definition of gap-fill

Gap-fill is a practice exercise in which learners have to


replace words missing from a text. These words are
chosen and removed in order to practise a specific
language point.
The function of gap filling
The function of gap filling is to restore the missing
words.

The level used of gap filling


This gap filling test are for higher level sof learning,
such as junoir high school and senior high school. But
usually can also be used at higher levels.
There are someadvantagesof gap filling:
1. Little scope for the learner to guess the correct answer
2. The techniqueis not restricted by the need for distractors
3. Useful for assessing recall

There are disadvantagesof gap filling:


1.Often difficult to write questions that have only one correct
answer.
2.Sometimes the word (s) omitted make it difficult to
understand the meaning of the sentence.

The definition of Completion

completion is the act of finishing something in it


sentirety or the state of being entirely finished. This test
consists of series of items which requires the taste to fill
a word or phrase on the blanks.
 
The function of completion

word or phrase on the blanks.

The level used of completion test


are for higher levels of learning, such as junoir high
school and senior high school. But usually can also be
used at higher levels.
Some advantages of this test are:
1. It can assess effectively the lower level of Bloom’s
Taxonomy.
2. It covers a broad range of topic in a short span of
time.
3. It is easier to prepare and less time consuming.
Some Disadvantages of Completion are:
1. It is only appropriate for questions that can be
answered with short responses.
2. There is a difficulty in scoring when the questions
are not prepared properly and clearly.
3. It can assess only knowledge, comprehension and
application levels in Bloom’sTaxonomy of Cognitive
domain.
