IMMUNIZATION IN

CHILDREN
IMMUNIZATION DEVINITION
Immunization is an attempt to provide
immunity to infants and children by
introducing vaccines into the body so that
the body makes antibodies to prevent certain
diseases (Hidayat, 2008).
TYPES OF IMMUNIZATION
a. BCG Immunization
is a vaccine to prevent tuberculosis. Although
BCG is the most widely used vaccine in the
world (85% of infants received 1 dose of BCG
in 1993), but the estimated degree of protection
varies greatly and there is no reliable
immunological marker against tuberculosis.
b. Hepatitis B immunization
is a mandatory immunization, more than 100
countries include this vaccination in their
national programs. Because if it attacks the
child, the disease caused by this virus is
difficult to cure. If from birth has been infected
with the hepatitis B virus (HBV) can cause
disorders that carry continuously into
adulthood. Very likely cirrhosis or contraction
of the liver.
c. Polio
There are 2 types of polio immunization, the
first is oral polio vaccine or which is often seen
everywhere which is the mouth drops vaccine.
While the second is inactivated polio vaccine, it
is injected. If the drops are easy to administer,
cheap and close to the original disease route, so
it is widely used. If the injection effect is better
protection but expensive and has no
epidemiological effect.
