INFORMATION
 Things that need to be done before the semester begins

◦ Please choose a class representative asap or someone just starts a whatsapp

group
◦ Class representative is to set up a whatsapp group for easy communication

◦ Please read all the information in the general information section carefully so
that you know what is happening this semester, how classes will be
conducted and how your test / exam marks will be given and assignments
◦ If anyone does not understand anything, please contact me asap through
whatsapp
 Things that need to be done before the semester begins
◦ To summarize what is happening this semester is as follows
1. Beginning of semester has been moved 2 weeks from 30th March to 13th April
2. The government’s MCO is now until April 28th but can still be extended by another 2 weeks.
Also when the MOC is lifted, the government may still not allow big gatherings such as
schools, universities, religious gatherings etc.
3. So Taylor’s Uni has decided to be proactive and conduct the first half of the semester (7 weeks)
through online classes only
4. All class material will be online through Times. If we need to have face contact, we will use
Zoom or Microsoft Teams
5. For theory classes that should not be an issue but for practical classes you will have to check
with your practical lecturer. In our course Wine Studies there is only about 2 classes where we
have wine tasting which we will do in the second half of the semester.
 Things that need to be done before the semester begins

◦ Please read the introduction PP slides regarding your exam and assignment requirements
and dates when you need to submit and in what form
◦ Each week there will be updates, quizzes, videos to watch etc. So not all material will
appear from the first week. PLEASE DON’T BE A HERO AND FINISH READING ALL 7
WEEKS OF INFORMATION IN JUST A FEW DAYS!! Take your time and make sure you
understand the info for each week and think how you can use that information.
