garnet
• Another type of filter is
cartridges filter and sock filter
• Use to treat feedwater that frequently contain unwanted matter such
as mud, salt and bacteria
• Can cause problem such as presence of soot in the boiler
• Require two process which is clarification and filtration
• For clarification, small amounts of solid particles from the water
will be remove
• For filtration, it will remove all the suspended solid left after the
clarification
• Benefits using filter :
1. reduces the boiler’s maintenance cost
2. extends the boiler life

• The problem is firetube boiler not as efficient as other boiler
• To overcome it, the addition of turbulator is needed
