DeConstructivism
Introduction
 Inspired by the Theory
of Philosopher Jacques
Derrida.
 Sought to see beauty in
an offbeat in a building
under construction
 Built using Parametric
modelling
Parametric Modelling
 Using software like grasshopper (a plugin for the
popular Rhino 3D).
 Instead of drawing a static design one makes a so called
‘definition’ (a kind of program) of the design.
 The software generates a 3D or 2D model based on the given
definition but one can still change all the input parameters like
size, geometry, material thickness, etc and your model will be.
 The great advantage is that changes updated in real time one
can make design changes very quickly without having to make
any adjustments in the drawing. Using a digital production
machine it’s even possible to make a physical model at very
low cost.
