1. Usage
• Thì hiện tại đơn diễn tả một chân lý , một sự thật hiển
nhiên.
Ví dụ: The sun ries in the East.
Tom comes from England.
• Thì hiện tại đơn diễn tả 1 thói quen , một hành động
xảy ra thường xuyên ở hiện tại.
Ví dụ: Mary often goes to school by bicycle.
I get up early every morning.
Affirmative Form

They play soccer.

She rides bike in the park.


3rd Person Singular
(he - she - it)
1. In general we add s to the verb.
work  works

2. Verbs ending in ss, x, ch, sh, o add “es”


dress  dresses wash  washes
fix  fixes go  goes
watch  watches
3. Verbs ending in consonant + y, changes
the y to “ies”
cry  cries

But verbs ending in vowel + y, just add “s”


play  plays
Negative
Form
She does not run in the park.
She doesn’t run in the park.

They do not swim.


do not = don’t They don’t swim.
does not = doesn’t
Interrogative Form

Yes, he does.
