Virtues and Family Ties
Filipinos prior to being colonized
have strong family ties. The Father
is the one expected to work and
being food while the Mother
takes charge in the house
including doing the chores and
taking care of the children. The
respect that the children have for
their parents is very prominent
and they will do anything that the
parents said to them.
Modern Day Filipino Families has
not much difference from what we
had from the past. There is still
atrong bond between another,
there is also respect. The only
notable difference is that
sometimes the Mother also works
for the family and the father is the
one who will take care of the
children or both of the parents are
working.
Manner of Clothing
The clothes they wear
before has something to do
with their social class along
with the ornaments you pair
with it and the color of it.
Women typically wore a
camiseta and saya while
men wore kanggan and
bahag.
Modern day Filipinos
does not have a certain
set of clothes they wear.
There is a certain degree
of freedom when
choosing what clothes
one can wear due to the
influence of western
countries.
Tattoos

Tattoos are used to depict

and record battles and wars
one survived before. The
patterns are usually those
that are found in nature and
geometrical Shapes.
Modern day tattoos depict
just about anything you
could think of. People's
names, Face and wven
animals are used. They are
usually because they have
certain degree of
significance to the owner or
just for self expression.
Society and Social Classes

There are so called

Maharlika (nobles), Timawa
(freemen), Alipin (slaves)
which depicts the three
social classes back then.
The classes are decided
mainly due to wealth and a
person's social standing.
Nowadays, there are still
social classes which are the
Rich class, middle class and
poor class. The discrimination
is not as much prominent as it
is before but is still oresent up
to now. Unlike before, the
social standing of someone
can't be determined by the
clothes one wear or the
accessories they own.
