Magnetic field

A magnetic field is a force field that

is created by moving electric charge ( electric current ) .
At any given point, it has a direction and a magnitude ,
so it is represented by a vector field.

Unit of Magnetic Field

The tesla (symbolized T) is the standard unit of

magnetic flux density. It is equivalent to one
weber per meter squared (1 Wb/m2) . The SI
unit of Tesla is equivalent to (Newton Second)/
(Coulomb Meter).
How the magnetic field is generated?
Magnetic Field is produced by the motion of an electric charge. The magnetic
moment of an atom can be the result of the electron’s spin, which is the electron
orbital motion and a change in the orbital motion of the electrons caused by an
applied magnetic field.
Why the earths magnetic field is so
important?
The earths magnetic field serves to deflect most of the solar wind, whose
charged particles would other wise strip away to ozone layer (that protects the
earth from harmful ultravoilet radiations).
What would happen if the earth’s magnetic
field is disappear?
Solar rays will reach the earth’s surface that will effect
the earth with its constant bombardment of rays.
