Gospel Reading - Matthew 23:23-26

Jesus said: "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay
tithes of mint and dill and cumin and have neglected the weightier things of
the law: judgment and mercy and fidelity. But these you should have done,
without neglecting the others. Blind guides, who strain out the gnat and
swallow the camel! "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites.
You cleanse the outside of cup and dish, but inside they are full of plunder
and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup, so
that the outside also may be clean.“

The Gospel of the Lord./Praise to You, Lord, Jesus Christ

Short Reflection

The Gospel today denounces the lack of coherence or

consistency between word and attitude, between exterior and
interior. As CHSians, we are called to be true in our words and
actions. The goodness within us should be seen through our
kindness and good works.
Prayer:

Loving Father,
help us to seek the values
that will bring us enduring joy in this changing world.
In our desire for what You promise
make us one in mind and heart.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Saint Arnold Janssen and St. Joseph Freinademetz, pray for us .

Blessed Maria Helena and Bl. Josepha Hendrina, pray for us.
May the heart of Jesus live in our hearts and in the hearts of all people.
Amen
