Definition
 “Gondongan”
 Acute viral illness
 menyerang kelenjar ludah terutama kelenjar parotis
Etiology
 Family : Paramyxoviridae (in the same group as
parainfulenza and Newcastle disease viruses)
 ss-RNA
 Rapidly inactivated (hancur) by formalin, ether,
chloroform, heat, UV.
 Punya 2 komponen :
1. Antigen S → dapat larut (soluble) yang berasal dari
nukleokapsid
