NETIQUETTE DURING ONLINE
CLASSES
Attendance.
To monitor student’s attendance, the online class platform
is open at least five minutes before online class time. Join
the session earlier. In the chatbox, students will type their
Full Name and the word present. After the class, the
teacher checks those messages as proof of their
attendance. Don’t type ‘good morning’, ‘hi’, ‘hello’, etc.
in the chatbox.
• Readiness. Magsuot ng damit na naaayon,
kinakailangang nakaayos ang kinalalagyan
at hindi nakahiga o kun saan-saan lang.
• RESPETO. Igalang ang guro at mga
kaklase sa lahat ng oras, maging sa
anumang komunikasyong gagawin sa
kursong ito. Panatilihing magalang sa
pananalita at pagsagot.
Background. Be aware of your background.
Your teacher and classmates can also see behind
you. Make sure that there is nothing in the
background (e.g. traffic, other paeople, a pile of
laundry) that may distract from the class. If it is
not possible, you can employ an appropriate 
Virtual Background to hide your background.
Quiet Area. Find a quiet area to attend the online class.
Make it sure that is free from distractions. If you have
unavoidable background noise (e.g. barking dogs,
passing vehicles, etc.), put your microphone on mute
until it is your turn to speak.

Mute is your friend. Once you log in to the online class,


be sure to mute your microphone. This will eliminate
background noise that could distract others.
•Speak to the camera and not to the screen. Be sure to
speak clearly for everyone to hear.

•Refrain from eating, chewing gum, and other actions that


may distract the class in front of the camera.
SECURITY

1. Do not record or screen capture your online class meeting


without the authorization of the teacher.

2. Posting memes, videos, photos, and other electronic files of


teachers and classmates in your social media account/s is
strictly prohibited.

However, reiterating applicable provisions of Section IX(M), pp.


82-83 of 2018 Student Handbook, the School may exercise
reserved right to use any photograph or video for
educational, promotional, or any other legitimate school-
related purpose.
SECURITY

3. Cyberbullying. It is emphasized to all students that


cyberbullying (and all forms of bullying) has no place in
our School. The bully, if proven, shall be dealt with under
the CJC Policy on Anti-Bullying. Victim of bullying will
submit a written complaint either to his/her class adviser
or to the Guidance Counselor for immediate action.
SECURITY
4. Respect your teacher and classmate’s privacy.
5. Don’t share your password with anyone or share
confidential information during online classes.
6. Change your password if you think someone else
might know it. Always log out when you are
finished using the system.
Medium of Communication. All students are
required to speak in English or Filipino during
online classes.
Academic Integrity

• Students enrolled in this course who cheat or commit


plagiarism, or copy another students work in any way,
violate the Academic Integrity policy of the Department
and will receive a 0 point on the test or assignment in
question.
