PERCENTAGE OF

◦Is the difference between how much an item
costs you and how much you sell that item. In
other words, it is profit per item. Anybody in
business will find the skill of being able to
calculate markup percentage very helpful.
Steps:
1.Calculate your peso markup by subtracting your buying price from your selling price. Example:
2. Selling price – 15.00 pesos
3. Buying price – 10.00 pesos
4. Peso markup (tubo) – 5 pesos
5.Decide what percentage markup you will use based on cost or selling price. Use the method you choose throughout all your calculations.
6.A.based on cost – divide the peso markup (tubo)by the cost

8. Peso markup(tubo) -5. 00 pesos
9. Buying price-10. 00 pesos
Steps:
◦ B. Based on selling price-divide the peso markup(tubo) by the selling price
◦ Example:
◦ peso markup(tubo) -15. 00 pesos
◦ Selling price-15. 00 pesos
◦ Percentage markup-. 33 or 33%
