Mild or Uncomplicated upper respiratory tract viral infection symptoms such as

Quarantine definitions

 Quarantine refers to social distancing, IPC measures and the ongoing monitoring of symptoms of healthy
individuals. Individuals enter quarantine for a 14-day period under two scenarios:
 Individuals have known contact history with confirmed Covid-19 cases. Quarantine is voluntary.
 Individuals are new arrivals to camps. Quarantine is involuntary.

 Quarantine is implemented for the purpose of:


 Monitoring for symptoms of disease to enhance early case detection.
 Reduction in onward transmission to members of the population unexposed to Covid-19 cases. 

 Quarantine does not include scenarios where individuals or households partake in social distancing in the
presence of Covid-19 cases (suspected or confirmed).
Community or Strict social distancing, IPC measures and symptom monitoring of
facility-based the contacts of suspected or confirmed Covid-19 cases in defined
quarantine community quarantine facilities.
 
The suspected or confirmed Covid-19 patient is isolated separately
at designated referral centres.

Contact definition

Covid-19 contacts A contact is a person who experienced any one of the following exposures during the 2 days before and the 14 days
  after the onset of symptoms of a suspected or confirmed case:
 
  
• Face-to-face contact with a probable or confirmed case within 1 meter and for more than 15 minutes;
OR
• Having face-to-face contact with a COVID-19 patient within 1 meter and for >15 minutes;
OR
• Providing direct care for patients with COVID-19 disease without using proper personal protective equipment;
OR
• Staying in the same close environment as a COVID-19 patient (including sharing a workplace, classroom or
household or being at the same gathering) for any amount of time;
OR
• Travelling in close proximity with (that is, within 1 m separation from) a COVID-19 patient in any kind of
conveyance;
 
Contact definition

Priority Covid-19 A contact is a person who experienced any one of the following exposures during the 2 days before and the 14 days
contacts after the onset of symptoms of a suspected or confirmed case:
 
Lived in the same household structure as a suspected or confirmed Covid-19 case
OR
Any individual providing direct care for Covid-19 cases in healthcare or other settings

High-risk or Any person meeting the definition of contact

Suffers from co-morbidities associated with greater risk of severe Covid-19 associated disease:
Hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, chronic respiratory disease, renal failure, tuberculosis,
