With increased use of computers in our daily

lives, all this has affected our lives both in the


home and at work, in numerous ways. Our work
patterns have changed, our life styles have
changed etc. At one side, computers have created
new careers, while at other side many ethical and
other issues have cropped up.
Information technology is the technology used to store,
manipulate, distribute or create information.
Kathleen Guinee wrote, "By information technology, I mean
the tools we use to perform calculations, to store and
manipulate text, and to communicate. Some of these
twentieth century tools include: the adding machine, slide
rule, and calculator for performing calculations, the
typewriter and word processor for processing text, and the
telephone, radio, and television for communicating."
Computer ethics refer to the ways of thinking
and behaviour of computer users in situations
where a choice can affect the dignity and well
being of others.

humans. On each individual, computers
have left an impact. In each sector
computers have now become a necessity.

computers are used now. Computers here
refers to INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
i.e. IT.
As computers have influenced our life, our
work, our living style and pattern we can
assume that computers or IT have
influenced our society. With the arrival of
new era, everything has changed. Our
society is most affected by it. New jobs
have come up, business has grown, every
