HYMN: VU #79
“Arise Your Light is
Come”
Arise, your light is come!
The Spirit’s Call obey;
Show forth the glory of your
God, which shines on you today.
Arise, your light is come!
Fling wide the prison door;
proclaim the captive’s liberty,
good tidings to the poor.
Arise, your light is come!
All you in sorrow born,
bind up the broken-hearted ones
and comfort those who mourn.
Arise, your light is come!
The mountains burst in song!
Rise up like eagles on the wing;
God’s power will make us
strong.

Hymn VU #886 Isaiah 60

“Arise, Shine”
Jo: Arise, shine, for your light
has come. God’s glory has
risen among you.
ALL: Behold, darkness
covers the earth, and thick
clouds its peoples.
Jo: But upon you God shall
rise. God’s glory will appear
among you.
ALL: Nations will walk by
your light, their rulers by the
brightness of your rising.
ALL: Arise, be clothed in the light.
Your light has come. Hallelujah.
Jo: Raise your eyes and look
around. All gather together, all
come to you.

ALL: They will bring your sons

from afar. They will carry your
daughters like babes in arms.
Jo: Then you will see and be
radiant. Your heart will thrill and
rejoice,

ALL: because they will bring

you the sea’s bounty. The
wealth of nations shall come to
Jo: A multitude of camels will
cover you, the young camels of
Midian, and Ephah, and Sheba.
ALL: They will bring gold and
frankincense, and will herald
God’s glory.
ALL: Arise, be clothed in the light.
Your light has come. Hallelujah.
Jo: Your land will no longer hear the
cry, “Violence!” nor “Ruin and
Destruction” your borders.
ALL: But you will call your walls,
“Salvation,” and your gates,
“Praise.”
Jo: No more will you need the sun for
your light by day, nor the moon’s
brightness by night.
ALL: but God will be your
everlasting light. Your God will be
your glory.
ALL: Arise, be clothed in the light.
Your light has come. Hallelujah.

Youth Song:

“This Little Light of

Mine”
Our Father,
who art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On Earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day, our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those
who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom,
the Power and the Glory
For ever and ever
Amen

HYMN: VU #371

“Open My Eyes That I May

See”
Open my eyes, that I may see
glimpses of truth thou hast
for me;
Place in my hands the
wonderful key
that shall unclasp and set me
free.
Silently now I wait for thee,
ready, my God, thy will to
see.
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit divine!.
Open my ears that I may hear
voices of truth thou sendest
clear;
And while the wave-notes fall on
my ear, everything false will
disappear.
Silently now I wait for thee,
ready, my God, thy will to
see.
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit divine!
Open my mouth, and let me bear
gladly the warm truth
everywhere.
Open my heart and let me prepare
love with thy children thus to
share.
Silently now I wait for thee,
ready, my God, thy will to
see.
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit divine!

Offering Hymn: #191
What can I do?
What can I bring?
What can I say?
What can I sing?
I’ll sing with joy.
I’ll say a prayer.
I’ll bring my love.
I’ll do my share.
What can I do?
What can I bring?
What can I say?
What can I sing?
I’ll sing with joy.
I’ll say a prayer.
I’ll bring my love.
I’ll do my share.

Hymn VU #87

“I am the Light of the

World”
I am the light of the world!
You people come and follow
me!”
If you follow and love you’ll
learn the mystery of what you
were meant to do and be.
When the song of the angels is
stilled, when the star in the sky is
gone, when the kings and the
shepherds have found their way
home, the work of Christmas is
begun.
I am the light of the world!
You people come and follow
me!”
If you follow and love you’ll
learn the mystery of what you
were meant to do and be.
To find the lost and lonely one,
to heal the broken soul with
love, to feed the hungry
children with warmth and
good food, to feel the earth
below, the sky above!
I am the light of the world!
You people come and follow
me!”
If you follow and love you’ll
learn the mystery of what you
were meant to do and be.
To free the prisoner from all
chains, to make the powerful
care, to rebuild the nations with
strength of good will, to see
God’s children everywhere!
I am the light of the world!
You people come and follow
me!”
If you follow and love you’ll
learn the mystery of what you
were meant to do and be.
To bring hope to every task you
do, to dance at a baby’s new
birth, to make music in an old
person’s heart, and sing to the
colours of the earth!
I am the light of the world!
You people come and follow
me!”
If you follow and love you’ll
learn the mystery of what you
were meant to do and be.
