In New York City, lived the journalist Rebecca Bloomwood who was a compulsive
shopper. He liked to buy a lot of clothes and shoes in fancy stores. Rebecca went to the
movies and watched romantic comedies, because they were her favorites. However, due
to the purchases she made, she has several unpayable credit card debts. She dreamed of
working at the fashion magazine "Alette", owned by the sophisticated Alette Naylor, but
could not achieve it despite all her efforts.

However, she unintentionally switches the correspondences in the mailbox and Luke hires
her to write a column called "The Girl in the Green Scarf" in his magazine using a simple
language and metaphors that could be easily understood by common people. Rebecca was
shocked to see Derek Smeath in her office and saying that he is an exboyfriend that is
stalking her.
Suze helps Rebecca with her shopping obsession and takes her to a rehab group but she has
bought in department store frequently. When her column becomes a success, Becky is
invited to participate on a talk show and Luke and she fall in love with each other. When her
