‫شخصية جونباج جابو جونز هي شخصية أمريكية إفريقية فولكلورية ظهرت في ستينيات القرن العشرين‪ ،‬وعرف عنها الفصاحة والدفاع عن الحق (المترجم)‬ ‫•‬
‫عرف أصحاب المزارع منذ استعباد السود باستغاللهم‪ ،‬ومع انتهاء ذلك العصر انتقلت الصورة من العبد األسود إلى العامل األجير‪ ،‬وترتكز الصورة على حاجة‬ ‫•‬
‫األجير إلى من يسوسه حتى يصبح منتجا ً (المترجم)‪.‬‬
‫هي قوانين محلية في الواليات المتحدة طبقت من عام ‪ 1876‬إلى عام ‪ ، 1965‬وبمقتضاها يعزل السود في األماكن العامة والمواصالت والمدارس (المترجم)‪.‬‬ ‫•‬

Let's get this out of the way: cow tipping, at least as popularly
imagined, does not exist. Drunk young men do not, on any regular
basis, sneak into cow pastures and put a hard shoulder into a cow
taking a standing snooze, thus tipping the poor animal over.
While in the history of the world there have surely been a few
unlucky cows shoved to their side by boozed-up morons, we feel
confident in saying this happens at a rate roughly equivalent to the
Chicago Cubs winning the World Series.
Functionalist Approach
The text is a novel written for native speakers of
English. Although it is written in simple English,
easily accessible by non-native speakers, it
abundant with cultural specific item. The
translation is intended for the Arab world. The
purpose is to enjoy it as a literary work and not to
understand the source culture. The target text
should be as accessible to target audience as it is
to source audience.
 ‫أرضا –على األقل كما يتصوره العامة –ال‬
‫لنحسم األمر‪ :‬إسقاط البقر ً‬
‫وجود له ‪.‬ال صحة لتسلل بعض الشباب السكارى من وقت إلى آخر إلى‬
‫مراعي األبقار‪ ،‬ودفع بقرة ما ‪-‬بينما تستغرق في غفوة وهي واقفة‪-‬‬
‫أرضا‪.‬‬
‫دفع ًة قوية إلسقاطها ً‬
‫لقد كان هناك على مدار التاريخ القليل من البقرات تعيسات الحظ‬
‫التي سبق أن دفعها بعض الحمقى المخمورين لتسقط على جانبها‪،‬‬
‫لكننا نقول بكل تأكيد إن معدل حدوث ذلك يكاد يساوي معدل‬
‫مشاهدتك لبقرة تتسوق لشراء مساحيق التجميل من المركز التجاري‪.‬‬
